Caring for a Sick Child
- Check for fever (temperature over 100)
- Provide plenty of rest and limit screen time
- Hydrate (drink plenty of clear fluids - water, Gatorade, broth, Jello, popsicle
- Give plenty of Tender Loving Care
When to call the Doctor
- difficulty/trouble breathing
- persistent cough
- fever, chills, weakness
- excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- if your child doesn't seem themselves
Tips to Keep your Child Healthy:
- wash hands WITH SOAP AND WATER frequently; keep hand sanitizer in the car and places where soap and water is not available
- serve a balanced diet of fruits and vegetables - limit junk food, sweets and soda
- keep child's environment tobacco free
- keep immunizations up to date
