School Reopening Information
On Monday, August 17, 2020, the Seaford Board of Education voted to open our schools in a hybrid manner. Please note that those families who selected “100% Remote” on the questionnaire, will start the year as “100% Remote”. The district will work closely with the Delaware Division of Public Health to monitor the amount of community spread that is occurring with Covid-19. Each week, we will analyze these numbers which will help us in our decision making process. We all must do our part in order that employees and students stay healthy. Masks will be worn at all times. The best guidance to stay healthy is to wear a mask and to remain socially distant. Our custodial staff has done a great job acquiring all cleaning and PPE supplies needed for reopening. Our first priority as a district is to ensure the health and safety of our staff and students.
The first day of school for all students, 100% remote and hybrid, will be September 8, 2020. Principals will reach out to all families to share information specific to a child’s school.
For the first marking period, as we instruct students in both 100% remote and hybrid models, the school day hours are as follows:
• Preschool: 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM
• West Seaford Elementary & Blades Elementary: 9:00 AM-2:30 PM
• Fred Douglass Elementary & Central Elementary: 9:15 AM-2:45 PM
• Seaford Middle School: 7:30 AM-1:00 PM
• Seaford High School: 7:30 AM-1:00 PM
We are excited to get the 2020-2021 school year started. Please be on the lookout for more information from your child’s school.
